Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what we need to run NearbyLA — your email when you sign up or subscribe, your listings and applications, and basic web analytics. We don't sell your data.
What we collect
- Account info — email address (and password if you choose that sign-in method) when you create an account.
- Content you create — job postings, gig postings, applications, messages, and saved searches.
- Newsletter info — email address and (optionally) neighborhood / category preferences if you subscribe.
- Payment info — Stripe processes payments. We see transaction metadata (amount, status, product) but not card numbers.
- Usage analytics — anonymous page-view counts via Vercel. No personal profile is built from this.
How we use it
- To show your listings to people in your area.
- To deliver applications and messages to posters.
- To send the newsletter / alerts you opted in to (one-click unsubscribe in every email).
- To process payments.
- To detect fraud, spam, and abuse.
What we share
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the site:
- Supabase — database hosting
- Vercel — application hosting
- Stripe — payments
- An email-sending service (when we wire up actual newsletter sending)
When you apply to a gig or post a listing, the relevant contact info is shown to the other party — that's the point of the listing.
Your choices
- Delete your account anytime — email hello@nearbyla.com and we'll remove your data within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email we send.
- California residents have additional rights under CCPA — email us to request a copy of your data or to opt out of any sale (we don't sell, but we'll confirm in writing).
Cookies
We use cookies for sign-in sessions and basic preference state (e.g. remembering your last filter). No third-party advertising cookies.
